How to Apply

A. Admission Criteria

  • We welcome your decision to seek admission in Heritage Baptist Bible College and Seminary. Our admissions office will help you through the application process. Admissions requirements and program prerequisites differ depending on to which degree program you are applying for. Refer our catalogue for specific details or contact our Registrar’s office.
  • HBBCS admits students who show a sincere desire to learn God’s word.
  • Students must profess a testimony of faith and personal salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • The applicant if admitted should show growth in Academics, Christian Character, and commitment to and fulfil God’s will in life.
  • Applicants that apply to HBBCS must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the institution.

B. Prospective candidates must follow the steps below to complete their application for admission:

  1. Filling the Application Form
    • The application form is available on the official HBBCS website and must be filled out online.
    • Ensure all required fields are completed accurately. Incomplete applications would not be processed.
  1. Email ID Requirement
    • An active email ID is mandatory for registration and further communication.
    • If you do not have an email ID, kindly create one before proceeding with the application process.
  1. Creating an Account
    • Visit the login page on the HBBCS website.
    • Create a new account using your email ID and a secure password.
    • This account will be used for submitting the application, tracking admission status, and receiving important notifications.
  1. Starting the Application
    • Once logged in, click on the “Apply” button to start the application process.
    • Carefully read all instructions before filling in your details.
  1. Completing and Submitting the Application
    • Fill out the application form completely without any omissions.
    • Upload all required supporting documents in the specified format.
    • Each file must not exceed 200KB in size.
    • Review the entire application before submission to ensure accuracy of details.
  1. Application Deadline
    • The completed application, along with all necessary documents, must be submitted on or before May 23rd to be considered for admission in the upcoming academic year starting in June.
    • Late applications will not be processed.

C. Admission Process & Application Fee

  • After submission, your application will be reviewed by the admissions office.
  • If your application is approved, you will receive further instructions regarding the next step in the admission formalities.
  • At the time of admission, an application processing fee of Rs. 250 must be paid at the HBBCS office.
  • HBBCS reserves the right to admit any applicant to study. The applications are processed in the Registrar’s office.

D. Required Documents for Admission

All admitted students must bring the following documents in person at the time of admission:

Mandatory Documents:
  1. Photographs
    • Two recent passport-size photos in addition to the one affixed to the application form.
  1. Academic Records
    • Original certificates of all educational qualifications.
    • One photocopy of each page of all the mentioned certificates and records.
    • The photocopies must be duly attested by a gazetted officer.
    • Any missing documents or incorrect details may lead to rejection of the application.
    • Keep photocopies of all submitted documents for your reference.
  1. Medical Report
    • A physical examination report completed by a qualified medical practitioner is mandatory.
    • The report must confirm the applicant’s fitness to pursue studies.
  1. Personal Testimony and Purpose Statement
    • A written testimony of your personal salvation experience and call to ministry.
    • A statement of purpose explaining why you wish to pursue theological studies at HBBCS.
  1. Church/Organization Recommendation
    • A letter of recommendation and testimony from your sending church or Christian organization.
    • The letter should indicate their support for your theological studies at HBBCS.

E. Additional Requirements for Postgraduate and Doctoral Applicants:

  1. Reference Letters
  • Applicants enrolling in postgraduate (MTh) and doctoral (PhD) programs must submit three letters of recommendation.
  • The Registrar’s Office will send the official recommendation forms to the provided email ID of each person recommending.
  • The recommending person must complete and send their recommendation forms directly to the Registrar’s Office via mail or email, as specified in the application instructions.
  1. Admission Procedures
  • Applicants are reviewed on the basis of their academic record, testimony and extent of their Christian ministry involvement, and the recommendation of their references.
  • An entrance exam is conducted for all post graduate applicants, following which an interview is arranged.

F. Day scholars

  • HBBCS primarily encourages only residential mode of study.
  • However, students as Day Scholars are admitted to HBBCS on agreeing to certain conditions stipulated by the Administration.
  • Living in close proximity or in an easily commutable place from the college shall be considered.
  • The applicant must consent to abide by the rules of the Institution.
